About Us

Welcome to Heartwell Cal Ripken-Babe Ruth League.

We have seen the need for a baseball program which better prepares our young players to move up through the various playing levels, and ultimately prepares them to play at the high school level.

Especially in the early stages of youth baseball, it is a primary focus of the Cal Ripken-Babe Ruth program to keep baseball fun while teaching fundamental skills with an emphasis on sportsmanship and teamwork.

Please join us in building a great baseball league for our children and our community.

Mission Statement

The Cal Ripken-Babe Ruth Baseball/Softball Program, using regulation competitive baseball and softball rules, teaches skills, mental and physical development, a respect for the rules of the game, and basic ideals of sportsmanship and fair play.

In all aspects, Babe Ruth League, Inc. is committed to providing our participants the very best educational sports experience possible.  It is our fundamental belief that every child with a desire to play baseball or softball be afforded that opportunity.

League History

The Babe Ruth League was formed in 1951. Babe Ruth League, Inc. has increased steadily from its first 10-team league in Hamilton Township, New Jersey, to its present combined size of over 986,000 players on some 52,000 teams in more than 8,600 leagues.

In 1999, Babe Ruth League, Inc. honored Cal Ripken by changing the name of its largest division from "Bambino" to "Cal Ripken Baseball."  Over 650,000 youth athletes currently play Cal Ripken Baseball worldwide.  Today, the 12-year old division of the Cal Ripken League competes in the Cal Ripken World Series, held annually.
